Trello is a powerful aid in the visual organization of workloads, encompassing visual boards for efficient task management. The eponymous Trello board boasts a full array of features, functions, and options for project management, and project organization. To get started, a Trello card must be opened. Next, attachments are uploaded, due dates input, labels, and other pertinent data are added.

Every Trello card is a veritable encyclopedia of information (when it is flipped over). The back of the card is populated with 3 major sections. The add section is particularly useful in that it allows project managers to input important data such as due dates, members, checklists, and other attachments.

Trello’s greatest successes come from its simplicity and ease-of-use. This project management system is geared towards enhanced productivity in a modern workforce. Accessible on PC, Mac, and mobile devices, this online project management system allows for enhanced productivity, improved collaboration, team management, administration, and adoption of new technology. The brains trust behind Trello’s development created the prototype of Trello in 2011. By 2012, the company boasted 500,000 global members and by 2014 this figure spiked to 4.75 million users. Users can manage tasks with simple boards, cards, and lists. With so many integrations (100+) with this system, anyone who is familiar with Google Drive, Twitter, Slack, Jira and dozens of others will have absolutely no problems using Trello. It is intuitively designed with visual elements (cards, boards, and lists) in a logical format.

Plans and pricing

Trello has three standard plans available for project management. The first is a free plan billed at $0 per user per month, ad infinitum. For most people, this plan is adequate. It offers unlimited personal boards, unlimited cards, unlimited lists, and 10 MB per file attachment. The team feature component allows for 10 team boards, and 1 power upper board is permissible. It also features 2-factor authentication for enhanced security.

Business class plans are billed at $9.99 per user per month annually. There are many additional benefits to the business class membership, including 250 MB per file attachment, priority customer support, observers, customized backgrounds and stickers, unlimited team boards, board collections, and a variety of power-ups including 100+ app integrations. Advanced security protocols are available for the business plan, including the ability to deactivate members, advanced administrative permissions, domain restrictions, and sign-on via Google apps.

An enterprise-level plan is also available and is billed at $20.83 per user per month, for up to 100 users. It features the same standard elements as the business class plan and the same team features. Identical power-ups are available, with additional admin and security features for enhanced security at the enterprise level. This includes things like single sign-on for all SAML IdPs, attachment restrictions, personalized onboarding, organization-wide permissions, and public board management.

Trello members can easily ask the Trello community for assistance at any time. The community includes millions of other users. The option to contact Trello support is also available, courtesy of a dedicated team of experts ‘Trello-employed Support Specialists’ standing by to answer questions on security matters, plans, billing, and related information. Multiple languages are supported at Trello, including: English, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, Suomi, Japanese, Tagalog and others. The support representatives are professional, polite, and prompt in their interactions with users.

Trello is a powerful project management system with a myriad of applications and integrations designed for maximum ease of use. Trello comes in three different packages, including a free version, a business version, and an enterprise-level version. This visual system makes use of cards, lists, and boards to display important data, with due dates, ongoing activities, to-do activities, and completed activities. Trello certainly serves its purpose as one of the world’s preferred project management software options, but it is not always the best choice for large-scale projects.
